The Tasmanian Historical Research Association was founded in 1951 to promote research into and publication of Tasmanian history. Each year the Association hosts eleven lectures, publishes three issues of its journal and holds various historical excursions. It also holds occasional conferences and publishes books concerning Tasmanian history.
